I decided that mantis' were too specific a focal point adn I have decided to make something more general. I have collected pictures of British insects because if I am going to make it about building habitats then the insects included will be expected to be the ones found in the habitats the reader will build.
There's possibilities of doing ones on different kinds of areas too, a more specialised book; e'g insects at the river side, seaside insects, forest insects etc. But I think I'll start with general British bugs because it has a wider audience potential.
